Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon Chinese Five Spice Powder
- 6 Chicken Thighs
- ½ teaspoon kosher Salt
- To make the sauce:
- 1 tablespoon Erythritol , or sweetener of your choice
- 1 tablespoon Ginger ,minced
- ½ teaspoon Red Chilis ,sliced
- 2 tablespoon Fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic ,minced
- 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
- 1 tablespoon Lime juice
- ½ teaspoon Xanthan gum
- 1 cup mandarin orange slices ,no sugar added
- 1 tablespoon Erythritol , or sweetener of your choice

Instructions
- To begin with, apply the chicken pieces with the five spice powder and salt and allow them to sit for half an hour or so.
- Next, place the chicken on the skillet and sear them for 2 to 3 minutes.
- After that, turn them over and sear the other side also for 3 minutes.
- Now, transfer the chicken to the slow cooker with the skin side up.
- Then, mix all the ingredients that are needed to make the sauce excluding the xanthan gum in a small bowl until they are well combined.
- Pour three- fourth of this sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker and cook them for 6 hours on low heat.
- Once cooked, transfer the cooked chicken to the serving plate.
- Finally, take the remaining sauce and pour them into a blender along with the xanthan gum and blend them for 10 to 20 seconds until it becomes a smooth paste.
- Spoon this smooth paste over the chicken and serve. If desired, you can even place some extra orange slices along with the chicken.
